So the 2010 animated film ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ has been remade in live form, Directed by Dean DeBlois, this film is taking a big risk of reinventing cartoon characters in live action. Will this project meet expectations ar at least be on the same level as the 2010 film? Would the 2025 version be able to recapture the magic from the animated classic? This requires picking the right cast members to reenact the roles exactly as was done in the original film. Can the dragons bring the same visual and dramatic feel? I must say I was thoroughly impressed that it kept to the storyline and fantasy action.

Mason Thames; as Hiccup

So on the Isle of Berk, Vikings and dragons are at odds. The chieftain Stoick the Vast (played by Gerard Butler) is determined tp revenge his wife. He doesn’t have any faith in Hiccup (played by Mason Thames) to follow in his footsteps however, he’s persuaded to have him join a dragon training camp and In the process of his training, Hiccup stumbles across a wounded dragon. He befriends the creature and names him Toothless. This friendship is very uncommon with the Vikings and not what his father is going to indulge. Thames really portrays the awkward kid to a tea. The interaction with the dragon along with the riding scenes was spectacular. Some people were worried about the violence from the fire breathing dragoon would scare the kids, but they were not frightened at all. They were very much entertained. The cinematography is extraordinary and makes the action so excitable.

The music score is kept it simple by using the usual Viking theme which aligns with the film. Overall, the audience was pleased and so was I. Rate this move a (3/4) 🍿 in theaters Friday, June 13th..
