Anya Taylor Joy and Miles Teller elevate the action romance genre to new heights in the Apple Original Film, “The Gorge.” The narrative follows two highly skilled government operatives, one from each world, who unexpectedly find love in the most unexpected place. While their mission takes precedence, they must unite to protect the world from a mysterious and formidable evil that neither anticipated.
Anya Taylor Joy, one of my favorite actresses, delivers an exceptional performance as Drasa in this film. Her character discovers that she’s not alone in the world and has a greater purpose to fight for. Miles Teller portrays Levi, a disciplined military man who finds solace in his solitary duties at The Gorge. Teller’s character learns that sometimes, all that’s needed is a leap of faith.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the Apple original movie. Anya Taylor Joy and Miles Teller perfectly complemented each other on screen. Director Scott Derrickson delivered an exceptional job. The CGI was simply breathtaking. However, the church fight scene and the intricate web of souls intertwined during that scene stood out as my favorites. The Gorge undoubtedly ranks among my top films of the year.
