SCAD Celebrates Its 27th Annual Film Festival

The 27th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival began with an abundance of thrilling programming and screenings. Since its inception, the SCAD Savannah Film Festival has welcomed acclaimed films and illustrious guests. Throughout its 25-year history, the SCAD Savannah Film Festival has connected student filmmakers and film enthusiasts with actors, directors, industry insiders, and talent responsible for the year’s most talked-about films. The SCAD Savannah Film Festival screens over 162 films, including 123 narrative feature films, 31 documentary feature films, and 69 shorts, with 10 world premieres and six U.S. premieres.

This year’s honorees such as Colman Domingo accepted the Spotlight Award in attendance at the screening of “Sing Sing, Natasha Lyonne accepted the Maverick Award accompanied by the screening of “His Three Daughters”, Steve McQueen accepted Outstanding Achievement in Directing Award before the screening of “Blitz” and Danielle DeadwylerJohn David WashingtonMalcolm WashingtonMichael Potts, and Skylar Aleece Smith accepted the Ensemble award before the screening of “The Piano Lesson.”
