The City of South Fulton GA, invited us to the their inaugural “Global South Film Festival”. It’s a celebration of diverse story telling, culture, and innovation from filmmakers of the African diaspora. This event took place at the South Fulton Southwest Arts Center. It showcased work from both veteran and rookie filmmakers. The festival brought together a lineup of films, informative panel discussions, and networking opportunities for filmmakers, industry professionals, and fans of film making. Attendees were expose to screenings of a variety of films that are unique and cultural motivating.
One of the featured guest that was honored is 3x NAACP image award winning actor Malik Yoba. Mr. Yoba presented his docs-series entitled The Real Estate Mixtape: Vol 1: I Build New York, which is directed and produced by him. The series follows Malik and his young companions of color to its first commercial real estate development deal in New York. This film is designed to educate people of color to work together to create equity, invest, and ownership of commercial and residential development in their neighborhoods to build generational wealth. We wish him much success.
